Combine three of Victoria's popular attractions - Healesville Sanctuary, Puffing Billy and the Phillip Island Penguin Parade - into one fun-filled day tour. A great outing for all ages to enjoy, the highlights of the day include Healesville Sanctuary where you can get up close to a range of your favourite Aussie animals including the platypus, koalas, kangaroos and wombats. The Sanctuary is also home to the 'Spirit of the Sky'; a bird of prey show where you can watch these incredible creatures do what they do best and show off their intriguing skills, as well as the Wildlife Hospital that treats thousands of sick and injured animals every year.

The second major highlight of the trip is the Puffing Billy, a century old steam train that still operates through the beautiful Dandedong Ranges. You can hang your legs out of the train as your putt through the beautiful Ranges and it also provides some incredible photo opportunities as you pass over the historic Monbulk Creek Trestle Bridge. A popular attractions for visitors from around the world, the Puffing Billy is an experience not to miss.

The day is concluded with the third and final highlight for the day, the Penguin Parade at Phillip Island Nature Parks. The world famous Penguin Parade gets you up close to these adorable animals as they waddle back to shore after a big day in the water. This is an experience unlike any other and when combined with the above two attractions makes an enjoyable day. All of these attractions are just a short distance from the Victorian capital; Melbourne, and together make for the perfect day trip.

This Bunyip Tours journey departs at 8:30am and returns late in the evening approximately between 9:30pm and midnight. Prepare yourself for a long but enjoyable day as you explore three of Victoria's popular attractions outside of the city. All entry and tickets are covered with your booking all you're advised to bring is sun safe and warm clothing, water and of course a sense of adventure.

Lyn 3 years ago I went with my boyfriend and it was very easy to meet up with everyone and the tour guide was knowledgeable about Melbourne so told us some fun facts about the city while driving us around. Healesville Sanctuary was absolutely beautiful and I would love to go back there again. The animals were free to roam and wallabies came up to me too. However, the driver got lost (and for a tour guide, you really wouldn't expect them to need a GPS) so we almost missed the Puffing Billy Steam Train. We had to run off the tour bus and onto the train that was about to leave. All the good seats had already been taken by then. It was a short 30 minute trip and pretty cold so I wouldn't recommend this in Winter. We went to a stop where a different tour guide picked us up for the Penguin Parade, it appears that everyone else was already part of a different tour and formed a rapport with one another and very social on the bus, which sort of made me feel left out sitting at the back. The trip to Phillip Islands was nice. We went on a horrible night with pouring rain and strong winds but the penguins were absolutely adorable to see so up close that it was completely worth it. Would recommend this to anyone but maybe not in Winter.
